In Shift’s workshops, we will:

• Inform you about the urgency of the climate crisis;

• Explain why your pension fund’s investment decisions matter for the climate crisis;

• Describe how your retirement savings are exposed to the financial risks of climate change;

• Provide a summary of the progress your pension fund is making in managing these risks, and an overview of risky investments in fossil fuels and other high-carbon companies and infrastructure;

• Provide information on how to engage with your pension fund on climate.

Past workshops have dived into the climate approaches of pension managers including the Canada Pension Plan, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Plan (OMERS), the Public Service Pension Investment Board (PSP), the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) and the OPSEU Pension Trust (OPTrust).
