In this webinar, Shift: Action for Pension Wealth and Planet Health reports on the key findings from the Canadian Pensions Climate Report Card, released in January 2023. The report analyzes the climate plans of eleven Canadian pension funds. We found that, as a sector, Canada’s largest pension funds’ climate plans are not on track to protect their beneficiaries’ retirement security while ensuring a safe climate. In this presentation, we summarize key report findings, outline what actions Canadian pension funds still need to take on climate, highlight promising examples from both Canadian and international pensions, and give you a sense of how your pension stacked up.
